Mirage is set to be a homage to the original Assassin's Creed games, with a focus on using parkour to manoeuvre through densely populated cities. With a much heavier focus on social stealth mechanics, picking a fight with a huge group of enemies will no longer be the preferred option. The tighter focus will likely have a huge effect on the moment-to-moment gameplay, too. However, the world will be far smaller and much more densely populated than the expansive plains of England, Greece, or Egypt.

We'll still be able to explore the streets of Baghdad and undertake missions in whichever order we so choose. Instead, Ubisoft is touting Mirage as a return to the more linear style of missions and storytelling.

Of course, once more we’ll explore the ongoing conflict between The Hidden Ones and the Ancients, and hopefully we’ll see just how that morphed into the Assassins versus Templar battle of the earlier games.īUY NOW: Expand your console’s storage with this Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe® M.2 SSD 1TB now only $99.While Assassin's Creed Mirage may be open world once again, it isn't in the same capacity as Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. Assassin’s Creed Mirage – what is it?Īssassin’s Creed Mirage will tell the story of Basim, who we last met in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. We’d tentatively predict a release in the latter half of the year. However, we’ll have to wait for official statement before it’s narrowed down. It’s being positioned as a smaller game, though, so it’s not likely to fall (or be as late as to land) in the traditional November slot. Unfortunately, Ubisoft is yet to confirm this particular date at the time of writing so you will still need to take it with a grain of salt.
